About the ECRC
Founding and Vision
The organization was founded in 2025 in Düsseldorf. It sees itself as part of the political, social, and academic engagement for a future, democratic, and pluralistic Syria, as well as a sustainable peacebuilder within the framework of the social and political transformation process.
During the conference in Düsseldorf, the foundation was laid for a shared vision of a Syria based on diversity, democratization, rule of law, and equal participation. The Ezidi associations, academics, social actors, and political figures represented there emphasized the need to permanently secure religious and ethnic minorities institutionally and constitutionally.
The goal is the sustainable anchoring of minority rights within a future Syrian constitutional order. The focus is on the equal participation of religious and ethnic minorities in all three branches of government — the legislature, the executive, and the judiciary. Only through a legally binding and institutionally secured participation can a stable, democratic, and peaceful coexistence in Syria be ensured in the long term.
Strategic preparation, professional accompaniment, and political-diplomatic support for the constitutional recognition and institutional safeguarding of Ezidi rights.
